The sun gives us so much. If we could harvest all the energy it gives us, we could stop using power plant and other energy sources. Even more important is that energy harvested from the sun is clean, and there is no pollution at all. Gadgets and solutions that can harvest and use this energy are called green. Sadly, we use very little of that energy. Despite solar panels are cheap, not many people use them. The most common excuses are ‘’I don’t need it’’ or ‘’it cannot last long’’. In reality, they are useful and they can last long.
The new and of the most promising concepts should allow us to harvest much more energy than ever before. This concept is called Solar Street and it is an energy saving product that can be used for public places. It has movement sensors energy saving system (MoSESS) and 7.3 square meters of solar panels. This system also includes phone booths, ATMs, bus stops and street lamps. All of them are powered by solar energy collected from connected solar panels. The idea is to reduce the energy consumption and to provide illumination through the night.
Beside it is useful, this system looks very hi-tech. I assume many people will just want to see solar ATM or a solar powered phone booth. This is a very smart solution. All of the aforementioned objects are exposed to the sun every day. Instead of trying to protect them from the heat, we can use that energy to power them. Maybe the Solar Street wouldn’t be useful in places with a lot of rain and cloudy weather, but cities that are always sunny are great choices.
